Updating old chandeliers

Says Nancy, "I don't know that a house is ever finished, but we sure got it to a place we really enjoy."Before: Too many doors and an awkward flow didn't feel "farmhouse-y" enough for the new owners. An office became a breakfast nook, a dining room became a master bedroom, and a new wraparound porch upped the farmhouse factor.

"John started calling me 'Non-Standard Nancy' because there are no built-in cabinets," Nancy says.

Many of the modern appliances (including the dishwasher and microwave) are hidden away in the island.
